Welcome to my application tutorial, here I will teach you how to make a decent application to give you better chances of being picked as new owner for a pet.
I will use my application for Chisien as example.
Step 1. Making a layout.
The first step to is to make a layout for your application, you can have 2 different layouts, 3 if you use webhost instead of petpages.
- Blog.
- Scrolling Page.
- Frames Page. (not able to use this on petpages)
Blog.
Blogs are one of the most used layouts around, its simply explained a (div)box with a scroll bar in wich all the text and coding is displayed. [Example]
Scrolling Page.
Scrolling pages are pages that don't use a (div)box but just display everything under eachother. [Example]
Frames Page.
A frames page shows links on the first page, and each section is displayed on a new page. [no example]
Step 2. The sections.
A good application should have at least 5 sections;
- Welcome,
- About Me,
- Siblings,
- Future Plans,
- Pledge,
Ofcourse you can name the sections as you like.
Welcome.
Small welcome/introduction message.
About Me.
This section tells about yourself, IRL, Neo-wise anything you find nessasary.
Siblings.
If your going to put the foster your applying for on an account that already has some pets, its wise to introduce those pets, so the foster will know what kind of siblings it will have.
Future Plans.
Here you tell about the future plans you have for the foster, will you paint it, train it, or give it a special petpet? maybe you will enter him/her into the beautycontest.
Pledge.
Here you post the pledge of good ownership.
You can always add more sections but these are usualy the most important.
Step 3. Making it look nice.
Now you should have your basic Application, but its only text! you should make it pretty, add images, and include a stylesheet, only use a background if its not to busy, you want to be able to see the text don't you?
A realy good thing to add, -if your able to that is- Draw the pet your applying for, drawing a pet takes effort, and fosterparents realy appreciate it if you put effort into there fosters.
